Can you help me?
I love building things that people use, and create a little joy, like this newsletter. I'll be honest, marketing is not my strength. It would help me immensely if you could:
Forward this to a friend (or several) who you think would enjoy this content
Post a link for others on socials (and tell them why you read this)
They can Sign up link is here
Also, don't forget to reply and tell me what you want more of. One subscriber asked for more dog-friendly events and locations and I started this for them: Dog-friendly Sonoma County: parks, hikes, beaches, patios and groups
Ok, back to the business at hand...
The Roundup
Early in-person voting is open. Get out and vote early! Make your vote count. Sonoma County is one of the Voter's Choice Act counties, so vote centers replace neighborhood polling places and you can vote in person early. KSRO
Help plan the Southeast Greenway. Personally, I'd love more trails that connect biking and walking. Santa Rosa has opened community planning for the 49-acre strip that runs from Farmers Lane to Spring Lake Regional Park. KSRO
George Fiori Jr. has died at 80. This one is personal. George and my family go way back to the Flori & Grace Pub & Cafe (1977). I was pretty young, all I remember of the restaurant was getting maraschino cherries from the friendly staff. George helped build the food scene here in Sonoma County. The Santa Rosa restaurateur and bar owner died at home after a battle with ALS. Press Democrat
Business Happenings
Now open: Leolo Pizza — New pizza place? Slow fermented sourdough. Love it already. Located at 203 N McDowell Blvd in Petaluma. Whole pies at dinner, pan pizza by the slice and panuozzo sandwiches at lunch, plus a special that rotates. Takeout and delivery only. I love that the pizza boxes carry work by local artists. (Leolo Pizza)
Now open: Liquified Juicery — I love that they're using Ayurvedic principles, and organic produce sourced directly from local farmers markets. This organic cold-pressed juice store is in the 2nd Street storefront in Petaluma's Warehouse District (used to be The Juice House). (KSRO)
Worth the drive: Redmetal Barn — Yes! We need more experiences like this in Sonoma County. Any artists or art supporters reading this? Reply and let me know. I'm interested in building a map of local art studios you can visit. If I see a strong desire, I'll look into building it. The Redmetal Barn is a century-old Cloverdale farmhouse and two horse barns restored as a home and art galleries. (Sonoma Magazine)
