Hello Neighbors,
Happy Monday. Are you ready for Election Day this Tuesday? We live in interesting times, to say the least. If you haven't voted, get out and cast your ballot. Details below if you need to find where to drop off your ballot or go vote. The calendar is a little quieter this week, but we have some options if you're looking to get out.
In this week's Signal:
Election Day Is Tuesday: Vote Center hours, ballot drop-offs and the federal demand both counties turned down.
Signal Check: A cool Tuesday, then back up Wednesday.
The Roundup: Pearls Before Swine on a Pliny the Elder bottle, milk spill on Highway 128 and a theater ticket giveaway.
Business Happenings: Last call for Wine & Food Affair tickets, free corkage nights and 25 plant-based restaurants.
The Week Ahead: Sister Hazel, La Santa Cecilia, Yellowman and two First Thursday art nights.
Live Music, One Glance: Five more acts, from Santa Rosa to Cloverdale.
Weekend Sneak Peek: Patti LaBelle, the film festival's Awards Buzz MiniFest and the Wine & Food Affair.
Election Day Is Tuesday
Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3, and you can still vote in person or drop off your ballot. All 32 Sonoma County Vote Centers are open 9 am to 5 pm on Monday and 7 am to 8 pm on Tuesday. Mail ballots can go to any open Vote Center or official drop box before 8 pm Tuesday.
If you're mailing yours, voters are advised to have it hand-postmarked at a post office on or before Election Day to avoid postmarking delays. The Registrar's office has moved to Brickway Boulevard in Santa Rosa; questions call (707) 565-6800. KSRO

Sonoma and Napa counties refuse to set aside mail ballots. Election officials in both counties rejected a federal demand to set aside nearly 200 mail ballots over unproven noncitizen voting claims, saying the Justice Department offered no individualized evidence. A federal judge denied a motion to halt processing of the flagged ballots on Oct. 28, and the federal government has appealed. KSRO

The Roundup
Pliny the Elder with Pearls Before Swine art. We're huge Pearls Before Swine fans here and always excited to celebrate a local legend. Russian River Brewing has a limited-edition Pliny the Elder featuring artwork by Stephan Pastis, the strip's creator. Bottles are available locally starting this week and more broadly Nov. 12. He'll sign bottles and copies of his new book, Pearls Jubilee, at the brewery's Windsor pub from 5 to 6 pm on Nov. 12, with the brewery's Natalie and Vinnie Cilurzo, and the event is free. 4,800 gallons of milk on Highway 128. No use crying over this spilled milk (sorry, I had to): the highway east of Cloverdale is back open after a tanker truck overturned last Wednesday afternoon, sending roughly 4,800 gallons onto the road and into a nearby creek. No one was hurt, the road fully reopened around 8 pm, and CHP is still looking into what caused the crash. KSRO
Win free tickets to the play: Meet Me in St. Louis. The Bohemian is giving away tickets to Meet Me in St. Louis at 6th Street Playhouse in Santa Rosa. The show runs Nov. 20 to Dec. 20, and the drawing is Nov. 19. Bohemian
Business Happenings
Last call: Wine & Food Affair tickets — Advance sales for the Nov. 7–8 event close Monday, Nov. 2, with no tickets at the door. Weekend tickets are $135 plus tax and cover wine tasting and a food pairing at each stop, across 45 wineries in Alexander, Dry Creek and Russian River valleys and Healdsburg, 11 am to 4 pm both days. Sunday-only and designated-driver tickets also available; 21 and over. (Wine Road)
Good eats: Wine deals and free corkage nights — High corkage fees are always a little strange to me. I get it, we all have to make money. Sonoma Magazine's BYOB picks include La Gare in Santa Rosa on Mondays, Central Market in Petaluma on Tuesdays (with 40% off bottles) and Baked on the River in Guerneville on Thursdays, with a $25 three-course dinner. (Sonoma Magazine)
More good eats: 25 restaurants for plant-based meals — Lots of great options in Sonoma County to find amazing, local plant-based meals. Sonoma Magazine's list runs from Abyssinia's Ethiopian veggie combo on Fourth Street to The Branch Line, the plant-based eatery in Old Railroad Square. (Sonoma Magazine)
