The Roundup

SRPD community meeting about Flock cameras — I saw this on Reddit. If you're concerned about AI + surveillance go have your voice heard. Thursday, Sept. 17 at 6 p.m., Utility Field Office, 35 Stony Point Road, Santa Rosa. Reddit post

Highway 1 delays in Bodega Bay through December. Plan extra time on weekdays: Caltrans has one lane closed with one-way traffic control between Taylor Street and Kent Avenue, 7am–3pm Monday through Friday. The $1.5 million project repairs winter storm damage to the pavement and slope, and Bay Hill Road is the detour, though heavy trucks aren't allowed on it. KSRO

SMART back on schedule after the Fulton Road crossing crash. I'm so glad nobody was hurt, but this is my fear if I cut it too close to the tracks. Trains returned to their normal schedule by 4:15pm Thursday after a northbound train hit a vehicle at the Fulton Road crossing northwest of Santa Rosa shortly after 1pm. None of the 18 passengers or 2 crew were hurt; two trips were cancelled and a bus bridge carried riders between the Santa Rosa North, Sonoma County Airport and Windsor stations. KSRO

Business Happenings

Now open: Sonoma Eats — Nice outdoor dining and birria tacos. Next time I'm in Sonoma I need to check this out. Well-reviewed Mexican restaurant and cafe at 561 Fifth St. W. in Sonoma, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Now open: The Supper Club — New since April, but new to me, so I figured I'd share it with you all. 4.9 stars on Google Maps with some great looking steaks and cocktails. From owner Gianna Volpi at the Cloverdale House Inn, 240 N. Cloverdale Blvd. in Cloverdale. (Instagram)

Now open: Maréla — Opened in May 2026, this coastal European bistro inside the Liora Estate hotel at 27 North St. in Healdsburg, drawing on seaside spots in Spain, Italy and the South of France, with dinner Wednesday through Sunday from 5pm.
