The Roundup
Sea otters could return to the Sonoma Coast. Wouldn't this be amazing if it happens. A Doran Beach event gave the public a look at what reintroducing sea otters to this stretch of coast could involve. The conversation happened at Doran Beach and focused on a possible return to the Sonoma Coast. KSRO
Sebastopol Porchfest is back. If you love music, especially local bands, don't miss this. Plan for neighborhood music on Saturday, September 12, with sets staged on front porches across town. The festival’s whole premise is right there in the name: the porches are the point, and the event takes over the neighborhood rather than one central stage. North Bay Bohemian
Go Wild gets you onto North Bay trails. A weekly hiking group is offering guided excursions that are open to newcomers, giving you a standing way to get outside without planning a route from scratch. The group runs weekly outings across North Bay trails, so there is a regular rhythm to follow. Sonoma Magazine
Rosh Hashanah is on the local calendar. Sonoma County’s community guide gathers services, dinners and other observances in one place, helpful if you’re looking for a way to mark the holiday or join someone else’s table. It’s a practical roundup of gatherings around the county rather than one single event. Sonoma Magazine
Business Happenings
Now happening: Wanderlust Food Truck Festival — a weekly Thursday gathering at Old Courthouse Square with 15 to 20 rotating food trucks, beer and wine, live music, bounce castles and face painting from 5 to 9:30 p.m. (Press Democrat)
Now open: Dolce Rosa Cafe — a new Santa Rosa cafe serving brunch, pasta and a lot of pistachio. (Sonoma Magazine)
